Breath, Movement, and Stillness
Meditation, qigong, and gentle flowing practice in Madison, Wisconsin.
Our Mission
We believe that every person already carries a boundless capacity for joy, compassion, and self-healing. Through mindful movement, breath, and meditation, we create space to reconnect with what is already whole within us. By cultivating these qualities together, we learn to carry them beyond the practice and into our relationships, our communities, and the wider world.
The Teacher
Tony teaches from the belief that these practices belong to everyone. His background includes years of Zen meditation practice and leadership at the Tomyo-ji Zen center in Madison, as well as sustained study of tai chi and qigong. He has relied on these practices personally to support himself through anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.
Rather than offering quick fixes, Tony focuses on cultivating simple, repeatable practices that people can carry into their everyday lives. His dream is to make mindful movement and meditation approachable, supportive, and available to as many people as possible.
Classes move through gentle warmups, grounding, qigong and moving meditation, a short period of guided free movement, standing meditation, and closing self-massage. The pace is slow and adaptable, with an emphasis on breath awareness, listening to your body, and practicing in a sustainable, supportive way.
This practice supports both mental and physical wellbeing by gently regulating the nervous system, improving body awareness, and cultivating steadiness of attention. Through slow movement, breath, and stillness, students will experience reduced stress, greater emotional balance, and a growing sense of ease and resilience that carries into daily life.
